Beckoning Cats
Maneki neko (beckoning cat) is a good luck charm in the form of a cat figurine, often made from porcelain.
In Japan. we believe in myriads of gods, but regardless of race or religion, we pray that these beckoning cats will bring us world peace and peace in our daily lives.
The maneki neko shown below are made at Kutani, a kiln in Ishikawa prefecture that dates back to the 1650s.
